vertical blinds for patio doors

Many houses have sliding glass doors that lead to the terrace or backyard. Like horizontal blinds or cellular shades, they offer a good light control to your room and add a feeling of space to your home. However, it can be difficult to choose a window covering. We recommend that you opt for vertical blinds for your patio doors

Vertical window blinds have evolved over the years. The different colours, styles and fabrics you can now choose from are almost limitless. It is one of the most versatile models of blinds, making it perfect for patio door windows.

One of the most interesting options of the vertical blind feature is their multiple opening options: left stack, right stack, opening from the center (center split) or opening toward the center (center stack). Depending on the layout of your home, these options allow you to let in as much light as you want.

Vertical blinds are great for patio doors...

Vertical blinds on patio doors are effective because they ensure that the doors remain accessible. The standard patio door is 72 inches wide and 84 inches high, which is a lot of space to cover. Many awning fabric materials are heavy and can be difficult to handle if the quality of the fabric is poor.

The slats of the vertical blind are lightweight, often made of PVC. Their tracks are sturdy, usually made of aluminum, making the window opening easier when you want to use your patio door.

...but also on large windows!

Not only are vertical blinds perfect for patio doors, but they are also a suitable option for large windows. As mentioned, the dimensions of the blinds can be limited according to the width and maximum height of the fabric.

Often it is simply impossible for many types of blinds to fit a large window due to weight or fabric restrictions. Covering a large window with curtains or blinds can be quite difficult. Vertical blinds provide a practical solution for large window areas. They allow light filtering for greater surface coverage and are easy to operate.

PVC vertical blinds: another conceivable option

If vertical blinds for patio doors and large windows are not enough, we also recommend vertical blinds for windows that contain an air conditioning unit.

You can have additional blind slats cut to size to fit the unit space without compromising the coverage of the rest of the window. The slats can be easily exchanged with the originals in the fall when removing the wall unit. Whether the type of window that you use, we invite you to consider the timeless and classic vertical blind.
