The Barcelona zebra blind’s most attractive feature is its high-quality fabric. It consists of a striking 4” light filtering panel which alternates with a 2” sheer. In addition to having silky fabric, this model boasts a fine netting between the panels. The entire length of the blind is weighted by a triangular bottom rail, which allows the fabric to fall straight and even. This elegant blind is a must-have addition to your home decor. Inside mount installation: do not make any deductions. The manufacturer will be sure to deduct for a perfect fit. The width of the fabric will be approximately 1/2’’ less than the actual measurement to account for the roller mechanism.
Outside mount installation: the width of the cassette valance will be the measurement provided in your order and the fabric will be approximately 5/8” less on each side. If, for example, the space to be covered is 60”, it is recommended to order 64” (being an additional 2” on each side) to ensure that the entire frame is covered, avoiding any gaps that would allow the light to shine through.

INSIDE MOUNT 

WIDTH: Measure from left to right in 3 positions (top, middle, bottom). Take the smallest measurement.

HEIGHT: Measure from top to bottom in 3 positions (left, center, right). Take the largest measurement.

Note: For interior measurements, enter the exact frame-to-frame dimensions of your window and we will make a 1/8” deduction to ensure the perfect fit without being too tight within the frame

OUTSIDE MOUNT

 

WIDTH: Give the measurements of the space you want to cover from left to right.

HEIGHT: Give the measurements of the space you want to cover from top to bottom.

Note: The width and height measurement should always include the cassette, valence, headrail or roller. We recommend adding 2” extra on either side of the width to ensure the entire window frame is covered after fabric deductions are made to accommodate the mechanism

BASIC MEASUREMENT ADVICE 

  • Use a steel tape measure rather than a laser
  • Measure twice and clearly indicate the Width and Height when noting measurements
  • Measure to the nearest 1/8 “of an inch. If your dimension is at 1/16” of an inch, round it off to 1/8 “of a inch

SPECIALTY WINDOW MEASUREMENT ADVICE

PATIO OR FRENCH DOORS

Two blinds on one top rail are a popular option for dressing patio doors. When measuring for an inside-mount patio door, measure the total width and height of the patio door opening. When you select the 2 over 1 option on our website, the system will divide the total width as evenly as possible. If the glass panels are not equal in size, you can specify the individual width when you select the 2 on 1 option. Note that there will be a 1″ gap between the fabric panels. We also offer a 3 on 1 option if your patio door has more than 2 panels of glass. 

BAY WINDOW

When measuring for a bay window where the blinds (typically 3 blinds but could be 5) will be installed on an angle side by side. Take note that the depth of the decorative valence can be found in the characteristics section to determine the depth you will need to take into consideration when measuring the top of your blinds where the brackets will be installed. It is recommended to use a cardboard cutout representing the depth and width of the headrail you are ordering to ensure there is enough space between the heads in the middle, as the blinds will be installed at an angle side by side and this will provide you with the necessary clearance to avoid any overlap, and ensure the blinds are evenly installed over each angled section of the window. 

CORNER WINDOW

If you are installing blinds side by side at right angles in the corner of a room where the glass if the window meets in the corner, the best solution is to install one blind directly against the wall, up to the edge of the glass, along the entire length of the window. The other blind will be installed so that one end touches the front of the first blind. This will prevent any gaps in the corner of the window if the headrails are installed at right angles, letting in unnecessary light.
